Welcome to TrumanShea Longhorns  

In 2021, we packed up our life in Austin, bought a ranch in the country and found a passion.

We started with a couple of longhorns, turned into something we never expected. 
The moment our first calf hit the ground, everything changed. 
We were hooked!  But if we were going to do something, we wanted to do it right.

Over the following year, we traveled across Texas visiting some of the most respected breeders in the state
and attending sales, learning everything we could from the people who have shaped this breed. 
What we found was a community as generous and genuine as the cattle themselves. 
That experience shaped everything about how we approve TrumanShea Longhorns today. 

Our breeding program is built on a simple philosophy: horn, color, body, and disposition - all four, every time. 
We don't chase one trait at the expense of the others. We source our foundation genetics
from the industry's most elite programs - Bull Creek Ranch, El Coyote Ranch and Star Creek Ranch to name a few and
we began to breed with intention, pairing animals that complement each other and move the needle forward. 
The result is a small carefully curated herd we are genuinely proud of, anchored by
proven young cows measuring 73" to 80"+ and raising generation of young females
with the kind of pedigrees that serious breeders recognize.

Disposition matters to us as much as anything. 
Our animals are gentle, people friendly and a joy to be around.
Several have been photographed as the subject for school art projects entered into contest
at the Houston Rodeo, and our steers are the kind you can walk up to and give scratches or hand feed. 

We enjoy meeting new and seasoned breeders.
